Data4Growth is a project aimed at improving healthcare in nursing homes by integrating existing technologies to address key care needs through Living Labs. It focuses on enhancing data collection, providing real-time insights to caregivers, and improving residents’ quality of life with solutions like pain monitoring and fall detection.

By fostering collaboration between Belgian technology companies and healthcare providers, Data4Growth drives data-driven innovation to create more efficient, personalized care.

Our role

Sentigrate’s role in the Data4Growth project is to connect healthcare sector companies with care homes, facilitating the seamless integration of innovative technologies into the homes’ existing infrastructure.

IntelliProve – PainProve

Vitals from video

IntelliProve developed an algorithm that measures various vital signs from a simple video captured by a smartphone camera. This non-invasive technology shows measurements of stress, heart rate and more.

Pain score

From this algorithm, IntelliProve also added a feature that can detect different degrees of pain from this video. This technology can be used to measure pain scores of people in care homes.

Combination of scores

Together with the IntelliProve’s Painprove, a general overview of a patient’s pain score can be found by combining the algorithm with already established ways of measuring pain, such as the VAS score, which is a self-reporting score that measures pain on a scale of 1 to 10, and the PAINAD scale. PainProve increases the quality of comfort for residents, while also allowing for a high ease of use for caregivers.

Wissner-Bosserhoff (Wi-Bo)

Safesense 3

Wi-Bo’s Safesense 3 is a sensor that can be installed in a hospital bed. The sensor measures movement in the bed, such as when a patient sits upright or gets out of bed, and the wetness of the bed, to detect potential bed-wetting.

Fall detection

By detecting when elderly patients fall out of bed, the Safesense 3 adds an important layer of safety in care homes, helping staff respond promptly and reduce the risks associated with unattended falls.

Targeted care

Safesense 3 uses these sensors to track the movement of residents. This way, care providers are able to use this data to give targeted care depending on each resident’s situation.
