Supporting clinicians in making
evidence-based diagnostics.
eHealth

The eHealth project is a governmental subsidiary project which aims to support clinicians in making evidence-based diagnoses of (geriatric) patients who present themselves with neuropsychiatric symptoms in later life.
The project
Differential diagnosis between primary psychiatric syndromes (non-degenerative/functional disorders e.g. depression) and different types of neurocognitive disorders (neurodegenerational disorders e.g. Alzheimer’s disease) can be very challenging in clinical practice due to the fact that current diagnosis methodologies are based on a subjective classification by the neuropsychologist, radiologist, nuclear radiologist, as well as by the clinician who integrates all different types of available information. Diagnoses are thus based on subjective interpretations of neural, cognitive, emotional and behavioral changes in the patient, measured via different types of data modalities.
