MDB-4-IBD

Optimizing IBD Care with Digital Biomarkers

Explore the case

MDB-4-IBD (Multiple Digital Biomarkers for Optimization of IBD Care) is an innovative research project focused on improving the management of Inflammatory Bowel Diseases (IBD) through wearable technology, digital biomarkers, and predictive analytics.

The project

The project is funded by VLAIO and brings together:

  • Sentigrate – Lead software and data intelligence partner
  • Inovigate – Healthcare consulting and dietary data coordination
  • Imelda Ziekenhuis – Clinical partner responsible for patient care and validation

From Data Collection to Prediction

Patients continuously wear the Corsano Watch, enabling real-time monitoring of physiological parameters such as heart rate, stress indicators, sleep, and activity levels. In addition, dietary patterns are analyzed through collected food purchase data.

At the core of MDB-4-IBD is Sentigrate’s role in designing and developing the predictive algorithm. By integrating physiological, behavioral, and nutritional data, Sentigrate builds advanced machine learning models capable of identifying early warning signals of IBD flare-ups. The tech stack that we use to being this project to life is Python, Dagster and Scaleway.

Impact

MDB-4-IBD aims to shift IBD care from reactive to predictive, enabling earlier interventions, personalized treatment strategies, and improved patient outcomes.

Through this project, Sentigrate demonstrates its expertise in digital health platforms, secure medical data integration, and AI-driven healthcare innovation.

If you’re looking to modernize your data infrastructure, optimize performance, or build intelligent, real-time analytics products, Sentigrate is your strategic AI partner, helping you scale with efficiency, reliability, and impact.
