Scalable EPC Infrastructure via Government API Integration
My EPC is a company that provides businesses with a certification of ecological performance. Some buildings have an obligation to obtain one to function while securing safety. Such buildings are, for example, commercial, public and governmental that have an obligation to have a general EPC. To make it more comprehensible, buildings where people work, play sports, receive care, shop or generally spend a lot of time in that are not residential areas.
The project
My EPC makes an estimation beforehand and lets you know whether or not your house needs the certification. Later on, if needed, certified and knowledgeable professionals visit your area and make the final measurements and calculations of your building and correct any inaccuracies or mistakes with verified and inspected data. My EPC had the need to gather more efficiently public information that they had access but couldn’t store and process. The information of the buildings mainly came from google maps or public government archives.This approach was time-consuming and limited the scalability of operations.
MyEPC partnered with Sentigrate to improve how it leveraged public data provided by Vlaanderen. The objective was to transition from manual data gathering to structured API-driven integration using the official digital tools made available by the Flemish government.Senrigrate translated complex technical resources into a clear, step-by-step implementation guide, enabling seamless API integration within MyEPC’s existing infrastructure. This resulted in automated data collection, improved estimation accuracy, and a scalable digital foundation for future growth.
